Crime Scene Investigators have used fingerprints to identify the body pulled from the Red River Tuesday night as that of 22-year-old Glen Bowens, Jr.

The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office says Bowens was originally from California but had been living in Shreveport.  He was last seen by friends on the evening of March 23rd near the riverfront in downtown Shreveport.  The next day, his girlfriend filed a missing person report with the Shreveport Police Department.

Fishermen spotted Bowens' body floating face-down in the river about a mile south of Red River South Marina and notified authorities.  The Bossier Sheriff's Marine Patrol and rescue workers from Bossier Parish Fire District-2 recovered the body.

Bossier Parish Sheriff's Crime Scene Investigators say there is no visible sign of trauma on the body and no indication of foul play.  However, they say results from the forensic pathologist and toxicology report are still pending and could take up to six weeks to come back.  At this point, though, they say they don't believe there will be any type of criminal investigation in connection with Bowens' death.
