Shreveport Regional Airport has seen twelve consecutive months of increases in the number of people flying out of Shreveport. Year-to-date enplanements, as they're called, are up 12-percent over the same period last year. The total number of passengers using the airport is also up -- 11-percent over last year. Mayor Glover, Airport Authority Chairman Keith Gamble, and Interim Airports Director Bill Cooksey are all hailing the positive figures -- especially at a time when the national economy is having a tough time. The number of people getting on planes -- nationwide -- is only up two-percent year-to-date.
