The Blue Forever Fun Run is Saturday, November 5th at the Walker Place Park next to the CenturyLink Center off of Teague Parkway.

Registration is $25 dollars.

This is a 5K run or walk event organized by Jeremy Hand, senior at Benton High School as part of his senior project. If you are not familiar with Blue Forever, the group raises money to outfit area police officers with Quik Clot Trauma Kits which can save lives at trauma scenes.

Since October of 2012, Blue Forever has donated over 2,100 Quik Clot Belt Trauma Kits valued at over 139,000 dollars to law enforcement officers, and 200 SWAT-T tourniquets.

Haughton High's Kellie Abbott started Blue Forever while in High School after the death of Shreveport Police Officer Tim Prunty. She says a Quik Clot Kit on the scene might have saved his life.

Event details and schedule:

On race day, November 5th the race starts at 8:00 A.M., so please arrive early to have plenty time to park. The race will begin at the park and run east over the walk bridge then turn north along Teague Parkway to the halfway point then back along the same path.
