Blood donors giving at a LifeShare center between Thanksgiving and Christmas will not only help patients, but their donation will also help the hungry.

For every blood donation made at a LifeShare center from Nov. 27 through Dec. 24, LifeShare will donate a canned good to the local food bank.

The recipient for the donations in Shreveport and Bossier City will be the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, and for Texarkana the Harvest Regional Food Bank. The blood center also invites the community to drop off nonperishable food items during this time to add to the contribution to the food bank.

“Blood donors already show their commitment to the community. During the holiday season, we are making that dedication impact the community even further by helping the hungry,” says Tina Hooper, spokesperson for LifeShare Blood Centers.
