TV star Billy Bretherton, who plays "Billy the Exterminator" on his own show on A&E, has been busted in Bossier City on drug charges. But the incident happened back in April.

Bossier City Police spokesman Mark Natalee told KEEL News that Billy and his wife Mary both turned themselves in to police Friday after police informed them there were outstanding arrest warrants for possession of marjiuana and drug paraphernalia.

In April, authorities received a 911 call and responded to the scene of a local hotel where the couple was staying.

Natalee said police discovered synthetic marijuana and a pipe used to smoke marijuana.

Police were waiting on results from the drug lab and the tests came back positive for synthetic pot before filing charges, saidNatalee.

The marijuana contained high levels of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, Natalee revealed.
The pair posted $6,000 bonds on Friday. The case will heard in district court in Benton at a later date.

Natalee explained that contrary to what some believe, synthetic marijuana is just as illegal in Louisiana as the real deal and classified as a schedule one drug.

"Billy the Exterminator" is a big hit, especially among children who love watching a crazy-haired guy play with snakes.

Whether Billy will continue with his show is unknown.
