A bill to reduce the amount of deductions for state income taxes died on the House Floor Sunday night. The bill was projected to raise 88 million dollars for the state. That leaves just two bills left in the special session that would raise significant money.

So far, the House and Senate have raised 222 million dollars, but Governor John Bel Edwards was hoping for 600 million to completely close the gap. The special session must end Thursday by midnight.
