Senator Bill Cassidy talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the government shutdown, saying he thinks that House and Senate Democrats may be ready to deal with the President on immigration.

Regarding the shutdown, Cassidy tells KEEL listeners, "If you look at the number of people coming from Central America to the United States - a caravan of 10,000 people - and something has to be done. Now that Pelosi is Speaker and she has a little more latitude and come up with some sort of compromise."

The Senator also addresses his attempts to solidify flood insurance funding and his efforts to secure a Congressional Gold Medal for former New Orleans Saints star and ALS victim Steve Gleason.
