The documentary "Beyond Galilee" was shown to a packed house at the Robinson Film Center this week. The film explores the Civil Rights Movement in Shreveport. The attendees got to hear a panel discussion including North Louisiana Civil Rights Coalition board members, Mrs. Maxine Sarpy, Dr. Harry Blake and NLCRC Oral History Archivist and Historian Niketa Williams moderating.

“Beyond Galilee” premiered at the Robinson five years ago. But the show this week included a big red carpet event where folks gathered an hour before the show.

“Beyond Galilee” includes home movies and videos shot during the civil rights movement. Here's part of the panel discussion.

The filmmakers are hoping to get the movie shown in local schools.
