Some Benton Elementary School fourth and fifth graders can lay claim to being the best elementary school archers in the world.  

Out of the 30 teams competing at the National Archery in the Schools Program World Tournament over the weekend, the Benton team emerged in first place.

This has been a year of winning for the Benton team, under the direction of Coach Perry Norcross.  The team finished first in state competition and eighth in national competion to earn an invitation to the World Tournament.

A celebratory pep rally is planned to honor the team Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m. in the Benton Elementary gymnasium.
