If you'll pardon the pun, the love of beer seems to be ingrained in us.  The earliest American colonists brought their love of beer and brewing skills with them to the New World.  William Penn built a brewhouse on his estate in the 1680's and you can still visit it today.  George Washington had a recipe for beer which was found among his notes after he died.

According to NationalToday.com, scientists have conducted a few studies as to why we love beer so much, and they've found some really interesting things.  For instance, the very taste of beer triggers the production of dopamine in the brain, which means that you want to drink even more beer.

Beer makes us more attractive.  At least that's what we think when we see ourselves through beer goggles.  British researchers have discovered that beer actually makes us think that we look more attractive.

Most importantly for us working folk, beer is the perfect ending to a long, hard day. Whatever kind of work you do for a living, there's nothing that tops off the day better than an ice-cold brew.

If you love beer, today is your day--National Beer Lover's Day.  To celebrate, Grab some friends and grab a few brews.  You've earned it!
