It's had a long and storied history -- spanning more than thirty years -- but the Eighth Air Force Museum is no more! No, it hasn't closed -- it's now the Barksdale Global Power Museum and it's a very popular place. Second Bomb Wing Commander -- Colonel Andrew Gebera -- says his research has shown that the museum is the third-most-popular tourist attraction in the Shreveport/Bossier area with some 50,000 visitors each year. Over its more-than-thirty-year history, the museum has grown to the point where it now houses 28 aircraft and 120 displays. Col. Gebara says the name change will better reflect the history that it houses.
