Austin Badon rounded out a strong week of campaigning with the second major endorsement of his young campaign tonight earning the resounding endorsement of Orleans Parish Democratic Executive Committee (OPDEC). Just last week, Badon received the endorsement of the Greater New Orleans Republicans (GNOR). This bi-partisan show of support highlights Badon’s well-deserved credentials as a builder of diverse coalitions focused on producing real results established throughout his service in the legislature.

“I’m running for Council At-Large because I believe that to solve our toughest problems, especially violent crime, we need to come together and work towards effective solutions, not paralyze our progress with divisive rhetoric,” said Badon. “These endorsements exemplify the kind of campaign I plan to run, my record as a legislator, and my goals if elected. I’m in this race to represent all of New Orleans, uniting and empowering our community to beat back our toughest challenges.”

Badon has a strong record of bi-partisan success in the legislature, on bills ranging from government reform and accountability, ethics, education, and public works. He currently represents District 100 in the Louisiana legislature, and was re-elected without opposition in the fall of 2011.
