Autocrossing With News Director John Lee
It was hot but the Red River Region, SCCA, (Sports Car Club of America) held its 6th autocross event of the year today on the big parking lot at the dead-end of Coleman Street in Bossier City. 32 drivers braved the heat to toss their cars around the cones on a relatively-short (35-40 second) course. We made it shorter because of the heat. We put the first car out on the course at about 10:30 and the last car finished just before 1:15. Even in that short time frame, each driver got six runs and a whole lot of WOW for driving that fast in a parking lot under controlled conditions. Our next event will be at the same location on Sunday, September 23rd.
