It was hot but the Red River Region, SCCA, (Sports Car Club of America) held its 6th autocross event of the year today on the big parking lot at the dead-end of Coleman Street in Bossier City.  32 drivers braved the heat to toss their cars around the cones on a relatively-short (35-40 second) course.  We made it shorter because of the heat.  We put the first car out on the course at about 10:30 and the last car finished just before 1:15.  Even in that short time frame, each driver got six runs and a whole lot of WOW for driving that fast in a parking lot under controlled conditions.  Our next event will be at the same location on Sunday, September 23rd.  In the meantime, if you feel up to it, I would invite you to take a virtual ride with a 64-year-old driver in a 47-year-old little British car.  Just strap on your helmet; hop in; cinch your seat belt down good and tight; and hang on at:
