Autocrossing With John Lee
It was not a good day for the Mighty Mini. After thrashing it back together to replace a blown differential and a badly-worn left front CV joint/stub axle, I took it out today for a shakedown cruise. I only got to make one run before the clutch went out because of air in the hydraulic system. You can hear it grind after I crossed the finish line and tried to pull it back down into first gear to return to my grid position.
Despite countless unsuccessful efforts to manually bleed the clutch system, I finally decided to just put the little car back on the trailer and drag it home so I could power-bleed the clutch hydraulics and get it right before our October event.
