Shreveport police are looking for a suspect in an overnight shooting that left a local woman hospitalized.

Just before 1 a.m., officers were called to the 2300 block of Marion Street to a report of a shooting. There, they found 31-year-old Demonica Chapman suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. She was taken to University Health for treatment of a non-life-threatening wound.

Detectives gathered information suggesting that Chapman was shot during an agrument with a man she knew. It's alleged that a second male arrived at the home and fired shots at Chapman, hitting her once. The suspect took off afterward in a blue Ford pick-up truck.

Investigators have linked 35-year-old Demetric Stewart to the shooting, and they have a warrant charging him with one count of aggravated battery.
