ArkLaTex Work-Release Inmate Charged In Sexual Assault

Officers responded to a local apartment complex in reference to a sexual assault being reported by a 17 year old victim on Monday afternoon.  The assault had occurred earlier in the day, at approximately noon.  The victim identified the suspect in this crime as the maintenance person at the apartment complex.

Investigators interviewed and subsequently arrested 35-year-old Jamie Steven Ditcharo, of the Arkansas Department of Corrections, for Sexual Assault.  Ditcharo was reported to be employed as the maintenance person at the complex and on unsupervised work release from the Arkansas Department of Corrections. 

Ditcharo is considered a Habitual Offender and is currently serving a 288 month sentence with the Arkansas Department of Corrections for Residential Burglary, Robbery, Possession of Firearm by Certain Person, and Theft of Property. 

Ditcharo was booked into jail at the Bi-State Justice Center with bond set at $100,000.
