The world has been watching and waiting and now it looks like the time has come. April the giraffe has had her baby.

Millions of people have been watching the live feed today and the link has been shared thousands of times.

This will be April's fourth calf, but the first born at Animal Adventure Park. The complex has some of the biggest pens in the nation. A spokesman says "We take pride in our indoor housing and the level of enrichment and care to keep them happy and healthy."The new baby giraffe is expected to weigh in at about 150 pounds and will be about 6' tall at birth. The front hooves will come out first followed by the snout.

Weaning could take between 6-10 months, maybe longer. The park is planning to have an online competition to name the new baby giraffe.
