The popular beer company has stopped production on beer in order to serve a greater need... clean drinking water.

As the rain continues to pour on south Texas, more and more residents are being forced out of their homes. The devastation grows with each drop, but even when the rain stops, there will still be a lot of work to do to put Houston and surrounding cities back together. In addition to shelter, food and supplies, people need clean drinking water.

Enter Anheuser-Busch.

One of the breweries in Catersville, Georgia has stopped all production of beer and is instead making cans of clean drinking water. According to WPLG in Miami, more than 500,000 cans of water have been shipped to help victims of Harvey. WBS TV in Atlanta is reporting that those cans will be given to the Red Cross and distributed by volunteers to those in need.

It's not a new thing for the brewery either.

Cartersville's Brewmaster Sarah Schilling says that this is something they do regularly in order to serve communities across the country in times of crisis. It's a way to be prepared just in case a natural disaster like Harvey strikes. This shipment of water will be delivered to Baton Rouge before being distributed as needed.
