An Ida man has been arrested for operating a meth lab after Caddo Sheriff's deputies received a call about an "unusual odor" coming from a home on Atlanta Mira Road.

The stench turned out to be an active meth lab in the home of 43-year-old Timothy Phillips.  The lab was dismantled by Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics agents and cleaned up by a hazmat crew from Baton Rouge.

Phillips was charged with creation/operation of a methamphetamine lab and possession of a firearm with CDS.

Just a couple weeks ago, Caddo Parish Sheriff's deputies found several other meth labs on Jefferson Paige Road.
