[UPDATE] The AMBER Alert for 8-year-old Dakota Knox has been canceled. He's been located safe in Ouachita Parish. Authorities are still searching for the child's suspected abductor, 23-year-old Sommerr Ann Hattaway.

[ORIGINAL STORY]  Louisiana State Police have issued an AMBER Alert on behalf of the Ruston Police Department for an 8-year-old boy who's believed to have been abducted earlier this morning.

Dakota Knox was last seen at around 7:25 this morning at the Lincoln Motel, 904 E. Georgia Avenue in Ruston, asleep in the back seat of a vehicle.

The vehicle is a black 2000 Mercuty Mountaineer bearing Louisiana license plate ZAW146. It's suspected to have been stolen by Sommer Ann Hattaway.

Dakota is believed to be in imminent danger. He's a white male with sandy hair and blue eyes. He's about 4' tall and weighs 70 pounds. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt, yellow shorts and a yellow jacket.

Sommer is a 23-year-old white female with brown hair and blue eyes. She's about 5'2" and weighs 115 pounds.

Anyone with information that can help police locate the Dakota or Sommer is asked to call Ruston police at 318-225-4141, or call 911.
