[UPDATE] The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Kailey Taylor has been safely recovered. Ransom Taylor is still at large. The investigation is ongoing.
[ORIGINAL STORY] Louisiana State Police has activated the Louisiana AMBER Alert System on behalf of Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office for a child who was abducted shortly after midnight from a residence on Paul Molbert Rd. in Duson, LA.
The child, Kailey Kristy Taylor, is a 3-year-old black female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is about three feet tall and weighs 34 pounds. Her hair was braided on the sides and she was last seen wearing a lime green shirt and pink & white pants.
Kailey was abducted by her father, 30-year-old Ransom Taylor, a black male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5’6” tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He has a scar over his left ear. On his left bicep, he has a tattoo of a naked woman. On his right wrist, there is a tattoo bearing the name “Kristal.”
They were last seen in a white 2000 Pontiac Bonneville with Louisiana plate XHM 285. There's no word what direction they were headed, but Taylor was last known to be living in the Lafayette area.
