The threat of rising flood waters is still being felt across the area. The sheer power of these flash floods is hard to imagine, but the three days of solid rain we have had caused swells that have already swept away cars, homes, and even claimed lives.

Public safety is paramount and authorities urge citizens to use extreme caution, and if you don't have to go anywhere, stay put.

Social media is alive with pictures and videos of this amazing flash flood felt by so many.

Facebook user Bryan Wooley shot several videos in and around Shreveport's Historic Highland and Fairfield neighborhoods.

This is a video taken of the drainage ditch at Betty Virginia Park illustrating the dangers of these easements. Please teach your kids that a drainage ditch is NOT a swimming pool.
