Chicago Blackhawks center Andrew Shaw scored the game-winning goal in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night. But then, Shaw's amazing shot was waived off by the officials, sending the Hawks players into a frenzy of protests.

With his team on the offense, Shaw found himself in perfect position in front of the net when the puck bounced high into the air. Shaw then jumped and - in grandest soccer fashion - headed the puck past the goalie into the net.

After studying the replay video, the referee cancelled Shaw's goal, citing the rule that a goal is disallowed when " “the puck has been directed, batted or thrown into the net by an attacking player other than with a stick.”

The game continued, then went into a third overtime period, when a more traditional - and legal - goal by Marcus Kruger gave Chicago the 3-2 win.
