All Things Mardi Gras: Party Like an Animal with the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux
Don't get me wrong, the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux have a good time, but their mission is serious:
Our mission is to develop, foster, and promote
programs to benefit abused, neglected and homeless animals, as well as promote responsible pet ownership with public education about a voluntary spay/neuter program.
If all things with paws is your cause, you should definitely check out the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux! The krewe was formed in 1999 to benefit abused, neglected and homeless animals. Since then, the krewe has grown by leaps and bounds but they're always looking for new members and sponsors to help them further their mission! Tickets: $45 Advance / $50 at Door
Cocktail Attire. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Tableau begins at 12:30 p.m. Buffet with Champagne Mimosas.

Royal Raffle
The Royal Raffle drawing will take place on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Petco on Youree Drive in Shreveport. Pre-register your pet, grab t-shirts, and stuff the ballot box. Additional chances for the Royal Raffle are $1 each. All pre-registered pets get one chance with paid registration. This is your chance to let your pet reign over their royal court!
Stars, Guitars & Animals from Mars Mardi Gras Pet Parade will be held Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Riverview Park at 601 Clyde Fant Pkwy. in Shreveport. Don't miss this chance for festive pets to celebrate Mardi Gras. Activities start at 1:30 p.m. Parade walks at 3:00 p.m.
Pre-register your pets NOW! and receive a discounted price of $15.00 for the first pet and $10 for each additional pet. The pre-registration period will end February 1, 2013 at midnight. Registration the day of the parade is $20 for the first pet and $10 for each additional pet.
There will be prizes for the best dressed, best float, and pet/owner look-a-like will be given. Our royal court of pets will be presented at 2:30 p.m. Lots of fun and games for the family.
