An Alabama woman has died in a fiery big rig crash on I-20 in Webster Parish.

State Police responded to the wreck on the interstate at mile marker 52 just east of Minden. The driver of the 18 wheeler, 49 year old Earl Jackson of Tyler, Alabama was headed west on the freeway when he lost control of the truck. The rig ran off the interstate and crashed into trees. The truck flipped and and caught fire. The passenger, 44-year-old Cynthia Johnson of Montgomery, AL sustained life threatening injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner. Jackson was wearing a seat belt during the crash and suffered moderate injuries.

The wreck tied up traffic in the westbound lanes of the interstate for several hours.
