[Update] One person is dead following a shooting that occurred on Airline Drive near the Payless Shoe Source in Bossier City Thursday night (June 12).

According to Bossier City Police spokesman Mark Natale, police responded to a silent alarm triggered at the Payless store on Airline Dr. before 8 p.m.

At the scene, responding officers saw a man outside the store who fled.

"The individual ran through the parking lot and at one point turn towards the officers with a firearm," Natale said in a news release. "Shots were fired and the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene."

The man, who's identify has yet to be released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses to the shooting say the body was seen in the parking lot near the Arby's and Bass Fine Jewelry.

Detectives are still conducting interviews to find out exactly what happened before they release any more info.

[Original story] There are multiple reports of a shooting on Airline Drive in Bossier City near East Texas St.

One witness who drove by the 2100 block of Airline Drive where the shooting reportedly took place told KEEL News that they saw someone lying on the ground near the Arby's on Airline Drive.
