The Shreveport Fire Department was dispatched to 2724 Darien Street at 4:17 pm for reported house fire this afternoon.  Fire crews arrived on scene at 4:20 pm to find a one story wood frame home with heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the home.  Fire crews were unsure if the occupants were still in the home and immediately initiated a search and quick extinguishment.  The fire was brought under control at 4:30 pm and all occupants had escaped prior to the first engine company arriving on scene. 

The home was occupied at the time of the fire by one adult female and four children.  The female adult stated she was awakened by the fire and got all the children out.  The fire originated in the front bedroom that was occupied.  The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
