The ACLU of Louisiana filed a lawsuit against the Baton Rouge Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies Wednesday. The suit alleges that officers used excessive force, wrongfully arrested citizens and were both physically and verbally abusive in their attempts to break up peaceful protests.

According to Marjorie Esman, Executive Director of the ACLU, People were injured due to the actions of officers and many were denied medical care.
