Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams will honor two officers for their actions in responding to a double stabbing that occurred in March.  Chief McWilliams will present the department’s Life Saving Bar to Officer Joshua Cheatwood and the Commendation Bar to Officer Stephen Boothe during tomorrow’s (June 7) regular city council meeting at 3p.m. in the Bossier City Council Chambers, 620 Benton Road.

Officers Cheatwood and Boothe are being honored for their actions in responding to an incident on March 27, 2011 in which a man rammed his SUV into his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle in the 1800 block of Scott Street and then attacked the woman and another man with a knife.

Officer Cheatwood is being recognized for his quick actions in rendering life saving aid to the most serious injured victim while Officer Boothe is being honored for his actions in apprehending the suspect just minutes after the incident occurred.  The suspect, 56-year old Richard Bell Junior of Bossier City, was subsequently arrested on charges of attempted first degree murder.
