(UPDATE, May 4, 1:11PM) Shreveport police say a 4-year-old boy was fatally shot last night by a 6-year-old.

The 6-year-old somehow got ahold of an unsecured handgun inside the hotel room and fatally shot the younger child, identified as Cameron Morris.

Detectives say there were several adults inside the room at the time of the shooting. They left following the incident. Authorities seized a handgun and suspected narcotics from the room.

Investigators are questioning the parents of the victim and the alleged shooter, but no charges have been filed so far.


(ORIGINAL STORY) A four-year-old boy is dead and officers are on the hunt for suspects.

The shooting happened at about 8:30PM yesterday at the Levingston Motel on Pete Harris Drive.

The little boy was shot in the head. He had been with some people in a room in the motel when a fight broke out. Someone pulled out a gun and started shooting. The child was Hit.

The boy's parents are being questioned.
