Northrose Plantation, historically known as the W. H. North Plantation, dates back to 1886. The original home was moved with mules and wagons from the bank of the Red River in 1903 to the present site on Cottonwood Bayou. After being destroyed by fire in 1923, the home was rebuilt on the original foundation. Dr. and Mrs. Frank Harmon purchased the home in 2000 and began extensive renovations in keeping with the original design. The property offers beautifully landscaped gardens and a pond with a floating fountain. Tour guides will be present at Northrose Plantation, describing the history of the home and pointing out interesting features.

Other points of interest on the tour include historic churches, agricultural businesses and other unique, local businesses located along the route. Available to tour are: Red River Crossroads Museum (located inside the library in Gilliam); Gilliam Gin Company (located on Hwy. 3049 in Gilliam); the Old Hosston School (14905 Oak Street in Hosston); Designs by Carol Quilt Shop (Hwy. 71 North in Mira); Belcher Presbyterian Church (on Gray Street/Hwy. 3049 in Belcher); Capt. Fletcher E. Adams 357th Fighter Group Squadron Museum (Magnolia Lane in Ida); and much more. New exhibits and displays have recently been added to the Red River Crossroads Museum in Gilliam.
