20-Year-Old Shreveport Man Shot During Struggle Over a Gun

A man is recovering from a gunshot wound, and a suspect is on the loose, after the two men struggled over a gun. 

Just before 7 o'clock last night, Shreveport police arrived at University Health, where 20-year-old Deonza McClinton had been taken by private auto after suffering a gunshot wound to the thigh. 

Detectives say the incident started with a fight between McClinton and a man he knew near the intersection of Midway and Joplin.  The men apparently struggled over a gun, when the weapon discharged. 

Investigators are working to gather additional information about the shooting and are confident an arrest will be made soon.  But they urge anyone who can further help them to call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
