A man who had eluded Caddo sheriff's deputies for the past three months is now in custody -- following a car pursuit.

Sheriff's Sergeant Mike Middleton of the Caddo Sheriff's Warrants Division had gone to the home of Terence Carthren on Tulsa Street about 5:30 this morning and spotted Carthren in a car outside.  But, when Middleton pulled up to the driver's side of Carthren's car, he drove off and led Middleton on a four-mile chase -- running stop signs and driving in the opposing lane of traffic.  A Shreveport police officer joined in the chase and Carthren was finally arrested when he pulled into a parking lot on Youree Drive.  He was booked into Caddo Correctional Center on a Caddo warrant for eleven counts of felony theft and a fugitive warrant from Bossier Parish.  He was also charged with aggravated flight from an officer.
