SHREVEPORT, LA-  CROSS LAKE BRIDGE NIGHTTIME LANE CLOSURES WILL BEGIN MAY 13th, 2024, TO CONTINUE NEXT PHASE OF LIGHTING PROJECT

Monday evening on May 13th, the City of Shreveport will begin nighttime lane closures on the Cross Lake Bridge, weather permitting, to continue the next phase of the lighting project that began in June 2023.

Hours of Closures

The nightly lane closures will begin at 6:00 pm and will be removed by 6:00 am each morning. The closures will start with the inside lane of the bridge in the westbound direction, and once completed, the inside lane of the bridge in the eastbound direction will be closed.

How Long Will the Work Continue?

The estimated time for completion is six weeks, but may take longer depending on weather, wind, and other factors. The lane closures are necessary to allow the contractor to safely replace the wiring and luminaires along the bridge.

PLEASE USE CAUTION!

Always drive safely and take precautions when driving through any construction site. The lane closures will cause the clear width of the bridge to be less than eighteen (18) feet during the nightly lane closures. Motorists are advised to plan travel accordingly.

The Most Anger Inducing Roads in Shreveport-Bossier

I try to be a positive guy. I do. But, if I'm being honest, it's HARD to stay positive when you're driving around Shreveport-Bossier. Truly. Between the traffic, the potholes, the debris...it can drive the most sane and level-headed person absolutely crazy!
